Thank you for your interest in FUNDVEC, or Fundación Venezolana Educación y Cultura (Venezuelan Foundation for Education & Culture).
Our mission is to enrich the lives of poor rural children, teens and adults in Venezuela by providing them with access to books.
We believe that quality, up-to-date books will enable
these underserved citizens to take charge of their education and help
them make informed decisions that positively impact their lives. Our
goal is to create a vital link between this vision and thousands of
peoples’ lives.
To achieve this goal, FUNDVEC has worked with
the community in Venezuela to establish these vital library projects:
Biblioteca Pública El Páramo, a rural library that provides free access
to up-to-date books and learning materials, and Seeds of Knowledge
Bookcase Libraries, which places special bookcase libraries of
age-appropriate books in rural preschools, daycare centers and
elementary schools as well as emphasizing reading aloud to children to
help them gain the skills they need to become good readers.
FUNDVEC was founded in 2002 and is a 501(c)(3)
organization operated by volunteers in the U.S.; this means that
donations to FUNDVEC go a long way and are tax-deductible to the extent
allowed by law.
